This sterling silver serving spoon was made by the Alvin Silver Company (acquired by Gorham in 1928) in the "Bridal Rose" pattern. This pattern was produced from 1903 to 1999. This spoon belonged to my grandmother and probably dates from the first 25 years of the pattern's production. The spoon is 7½" long and has an "E monogram on the front of the handle. The back shows "STERLING", "PATENT" and the Alvin maker's mark in the form used in the early years of production.
It is in good condition with minimal wear despite its age. It weighs 68 gms / 2.4 oz.
