Born in the village of Shungopovi on Second Mesa in Hopi, Arizona, Alvin Taylor has been working with silver in gold for over 30 years. Alvin specializes in traditional Hopi overlay jewelry as well as Tufa casting and lapidary work.
Alvin has been attending the Hopi and Zuni art show in Japan for over 5 years as an artist and educator. He has been teaching Hopi culture and ways to recognize fake and imitation Hopi pieces. Currently Alvin lives in the village of Old Oraibi and continues perfecting his work.
