Art Nouveau Alvin sterling overlay decanters a pair c1900
Art Nouveau Alvin sterling overlay decanters - a pair - c1900. A pair of 6 round decanters and stoppers with an amazing 999/1000 fine silver art nouveau overlay by Alvin Mfg, produced at the turn of the century. Finely crosshatched flourishes and flowers in silver.
Small scalloped detail at the neck of the bottle. These are marked patented 4 999/1000 fine with Alvin makers mark. Bottom of one decanter and bottom of one stopper are marked 25, the others are marked 26. SIZE 6" tall x 4 1/2" dia.
CONDITION Tarnished we buffed up one for you. Bottle stoppers chipped on ends.There is a white residue inside each bottle that did not come out with rinsing and a light brushing. This is a antique item. It has been used and loved and it has a history.
