Presented is a fine set of 6 Alvin sterling silver handled dinner knives. These knives are made in the rare and desirable Nuremburg pattern, which began production in 1903. This is a pattern with a lot of visual interest, featuring designs of fruit and foliage around a prominent devil's head mask. Five of the knives have silver plated carbon steel blades in the old Blunt form, while the sixth knife has a replaced stainless steel blade in the same shape. This pattern is quite distinctive, and full dinner size knives, with the old blades, are quite rare and hard to find in this pattern, particularly in such clean condition.

This is a very scarce set, and a great opportunity for any collector of fine silver. This set is in great overall condition. One knife has had its blade replaced with a stainless steel blade, but this replacement was professionally done and is quite hard to notice. The silver plated carbon steel blades are in great shape, with no corrosion or pitting and only the most minor of wear to the silver plating here and there.

The handles have no splits, no breaks, no dents, no cracks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs. As with all carbon steel pieces, these knives should be cleaned and dried after use, as carbon steel is prone to rusting and discoloration. These blades will darken with use and time, which is perfectly natural for carbon steel blades. These knives are not dishwasher safe. Each knife is stamped with the Alvin maker's mark as well as sterling.
