Large Overlay Whiskey Flask Alvin Makers Hallmark Sterling Silver Plus 999/1000 Circa 1900. Description: For your consideration is an Alvin Sterling Overlay Flask Beautiful heavy sterling overlay decoration.

This piece is marked 999/1000 (999 parts per 1000) - as seen in picture #7 - which is more pure than sterling silver. Although the piece is marked "Sterling" on the flask's neck - as seen in picture #8 - it is possible the body is 999/1000 silver and the flask's neck/cap is sterling; alternatively it is possible the entire piece is 999/1000 as it is not unheard of that some companies would mark a piece sterling even when it was 999/1000. Very heavy decoration over crystal art glass. There is a ding on the stopper cap. Measures about 7 & 7/8th inches tall and about 4 & 1/2 inches wide and about 1 & 1/2 inches thick; as can be seen in the first picture on the measuring mat. Excellent vintage condition with minimal wear. Please view all pictures as they accurately depict the beauty and condition of the piece including all the detail on the silver (except some pictures also reflect some beige color from hands).

Although the piece is heavy, I imagine its heavy due to the glass more than the silver. Thank you and happy shopping!
